Setup and Maintain Delegation Settings
You can set up delegations and make them active when needed and make them inactive when you return.
This is useful if you have several short periods when you will be unavailable to perform your tasks and want to use the same delegates each time.
To add a delegate, complete the following steps:

On the General Tab of the Preferences screen, click
Add Line to add a delegate to the grid.
After you click Add, the Delegation dialog box displays.

In the
Delegating Role drop-down list, select the functional role that you want delegated.
The drop-down list contains all the functional roles where you are listed as a "Supervisor" on the Employee Groups screen and that have the Allow Delegation check box selected on the Functional Roles screen.

In the
Group drop-down list, select the group that will be delegated.
The drop-down list contains all employee groups where you have the functional role selected in the Delegating Role column.

In the
Delegate drop-down list, select the individual that you want to receive the tasks of the functional role selected in the
Delegating Role column.
The drop-down list contains all employees set up as Supervisors for the employee group selected in the Group column.
- In the Start Date field, enter or click to select the date when the individual selected in the Delegate field will start receiving your tasks.
- In the End Date field, enter or click to select the date when the individual selected in the Delegate field will stop receiving your tasks.

Select the
Active check box to make the delegation active, then
Save.
To delete a delegate, complete the following steps:
- On the General Tab of the Preferences screen, select the check box next to the line you want to remove and click Delete Line.
- Click Save.
